Bilborough College
Welcome to your future...

Careers

We are very lucky at the College to have aqualified Personal Adviser who visits College weekly, from Futures Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

We also have our own Careers and HE coordinator and we are delighted to announce that we have the ‘Career Mark’ for our provision of information, advice and guidance to our students. This is a nationally recognised award, which can assure students, parents and teachers of the quality and appropriateness of careers education and guidance we offer to our students.

Students can have an individual careers interview, and can produce an action plan to help them consider their progression route to a chosen career, or they can ask for specific help locating information to inform their choices.

We provide drop-in sessions at lunchtime for students to talk about various career options and application procedures.

The OFSTED inspection in March 2009 reported:

"The college is excellent at raising students' aspirations and broadening horizons.  One of the key strengths is very good progression to Higher Education and employment ...Personal Tutors provide excellent support for students.. Careers advice and guidance are outstanding...Guidance and support arrangements for those wanting to progress to Higher Education are particularly effective."
