There are many people at the college here to help all of our International students, from getting used to living in the UK to helping students achieve their full academic potential.
Settling In
The college has an International team who are dedicated to making sure all International students settle quickly into UK living.
They will ensure all students have a homestay family they feel comfortable with and will help to solve any problems that may arise.
The team provides an in-depth induction into UK and college life for all International students before they start their course. Typical things covered are:
- Health service advice and Doctor registration
- Banking advice and help with opening a UK bank account
- Visa information
- Police registration assistance
- Bus information and organising bus passes
- College tour
- Nottingham City tour
- Meet the teachers
- Taster lessons
Academic Support
All of our teachers are available for advice and guidance throughout the course.
As well as having dedicated teachers, each student will be appointed a tutor. Tutors are there to assist student with all academic aspects of a student course, they organise additional support where needed as well as providing University advice and UCAS application assistance. Students have a set weekly appointment with their tutor and further additional appointments for specifically reviewing a student's progress.
Additional Support is also available for students with learning or physical difficulties. This might be assistance for a dyslexic student or perhaps a student in a wheelchair. Assistance will be given to enable the student to have access to and achieve their full potential.
