About Nottingham

 
With a population of 650,000 the city of Nottingham is a regional capital, and one of the UK’s most stylish cities, as well as being one of the UK’s top retail centers. Set in the heart of England within an area of outstanding natural beauty that includes Sherwood Forest and numerous lively market towns, there are also wonderful historic buildings such as Nottingham Castle, Newstead Abbey and Wollaton Hall. The city is also home to one of the world’s best-loved historical characters, the legendary Robin Hood. It boasts a wealth of theatres, museums and galleries, attractive open spaces, canals and the river Trent, where the Victoria Embankment is being transformed into a sustainable urban park. It is an international student city with two universities, The University of Nottingham and Trent University Nottingham, both offering a wide array of study opportunities to students from all over the world.  
 
The city also has excellent transport links – London is only two hours away by train or car, and Nottingham East Midlands Airport is nearby.
