As a student at Bilborough College, you are entitled to:
- A caring and friendly place in which serious, enthusiastic and committed students can study
- Regular reviews with your personal tutor and subject teachers
- Ongoing internal assessment and a profile of your progress at regular intervals
- Guidance and support from tutors, teachers and student support services
Support for you – you will receive
- A copy of the student handbook
- Expert help and impartial advice on progression to the job market, training, Modern Apprenticeships, Higher and Further Education and how to apply
- Encouragement to participate in Enrichment activities
- Opportunities to express views through your elected representatives on the Standards Committee, College Executive and Council, and through satisfaction surveys
- Access to a formal complaints procedure (as detailed on the VLE)
- Information about student activities via a twice-weekly bulletin and the college VLE (Virtual Learning Environment)
Support for Your Course – You will receive
- An initial interview to agree your course and explain what will be expected of you
- Specific guidance and support from the Library and Information Centre team, Additional Support team and Connexions Advisors (Careers)
- A high quality of teaching and a commitment to the promotion of learning
- Access to essential resources, including multimedia learning facilities and open access to ICT
- As part of the Key Skills programme, to attain at least level 2 and have the opportunity to attain level 3.
- Encouragement to work on your Post 16 Progress Profile
